This tour takes you to the most exciting, most charming area of Budapest – to the Buda castle. It is also the part of Budapest, where history really comes alive – if only these centuries old walls could talk!
On this walk we will discover the rich history of the almost 800 years old Buda castle, that history’s traces in the current buildings – but all in a fun, storytelling way! We will be focusing on the unique events, that happened here, the outstanding people that were present in the castle district and the architecture, that makes the Buda castle one of its kind. Oh, and there will be plenty of legends too!
Lively, multicultural, international trading town in the Middle Ages, strategically important spot in the siege of Budapest in WW2, a home to government offices and amazing museums, while people continuously living in its houses – the Buda castle area truly is a magical place!
On this walk we will explore the whole castle area, both its famous touristy parts places and its “average” streets. All of which are full of stories and legends!

* Karmelita monastery
* Royal palace
* Matthias church
The tour is 2,5 hrs long, starts and ends within the castle district.

This tour shows you the iconic sights of the Pest inner city - such as the Parliament, the St. Stephen's Basilica and the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial. After a nice coffee break it takes you to the Buda castle side, where you get the chance to explore its history and architecture of almost 800 years. In a fun way of course - full of stories and legends!
This 8 hours tour helps you explore the most remarkable areas of our city: the City Park area with the Heroes square, the Jewish district, the Pest inner city and the Buda Castle area. The perfect way to get the full picture of Budapest and the Hungarian culture. Don't worry, you will not be walking for 8 hrs straight, we will also take the public transport and have breaks (coffee and lunch are included).
This tour starts with a pleasant walk around the city park area, where you can find out:
- Why are the Budapest elephants so happy?
- How did the medieval and baroque buildings of historic Hungary look?
- Who do the Hungarians consider their biggest historic personalities?
After that we take the historic metro line nr. 1, take a coffee break and discover the Inner City and the Jewish district. Sights along the way:
