Nice to meet you! 😊 My name is Gabriella, I am a licensed, professional, local Hungarian guide. I do walking tours around the city for both foreigners and Hungarians. I speak German and Russian as well, but as of now the tours are available only in English.
I love traveling, discovering new places – immersing myself in the atmosphere of a city, admiring the small decorations of the buildings, tasting new dishes, finding out where coffee tastes best... To this day, I still walk around Budapest with such an eye and a desire for adventure as if I were traveling.
I love architecture, I find fine arts fascinating, I am interested in our society, I am a food buff. I have a special interest in Hungarian history, I read a lot about it – and on my tours I tell you the most interesting parts of what I read (but it never turns into dry citing of event or dates, I promise).
On my tours I share stories and fun facts that are exciting even for the Hungarians. (Believe me, I have had Budapest born and raised people joining me – they were enjoying the walk as much as the travelers!)
And even though on these walks the focus is obviously on Budapest and Hungarian culture, I am always happy to learn about your culture, history or just travel stories to other places – so feel free to share!
